OBDII DTC Fault Codes

On this website, we will find all the DTC OBDll Fault Codes, with the description of the circuit in question, as well as all the specifications and diagnostic procedures

DTC OBDII Fault Codes Diagnosis and Solutions

When the ECM sets a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC), the Malfunction Indicator Light Lamp (MIL) WILL ON for Type A, B, and C DTCs only. Type E DTC will not illuminate the Trouble Indicator Light. , but a DTC will be stored in the ECM memory for all types of DTCs.

Intermittent DTC OBDII Fault Code Failures

If the fault is intermittent, the MIL will turn off after 10 seconds if the fault is no longer present. The DTC will remain in the ECM memory until it is cleared by the diagnostic tool. Removing the battery voltage for 10 seconds will clear some of the stored DTC OBDll Trouble Codes.

Erasing DTC codes

DTCs should be cleared after the repair is completed. Some of the diagnostic tables will ask you to clear the DTCs before using the table. This allows the ECM to set the DTC while scrolling through the table, which will help you find the cause of the problem more quickly.
